Mexican 1 Oz Gold Libertad Coin.

999+ fine investment grade gold bullion

Design of the Mexican Libertad Gold Coin

The design of the gold Mexican Libertad coin is based on the design of the 50 Peso gold coin, which was discontinued in 2009. The coin features a similar concept to the Peso coin, and was originally designed in commemoration of the Peso gold coin series.

The front side of the Mexican Libertad coin features an image of a winged Victoria, with several of Mexico's most famous volcanoes in the background. Surrounding the image are the coin's size, year of minting, purity, and metal type, written in Spanish.

The reverse side of the coin features Mexico's current coat of arms in the middle, with all the historical Mexican coats of arms surrounding it. In the middle are the words 'Estados Unidos Mexicanos', or the United States of Mexico. These coins are minted using gold that has been mined within Mexico.

About the Libertad Gold Coin

Each Mexican Libertad coin contains one ounce of 99.9% fine investment grade gold bullion.

The Gold Mexican Libertad is produced by the Mexican Mint in 1/20 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz and 1 oz sizes. The 1 ounce size is the most popular size. The coin is also available in silver. The Mexican Mint did issue a platinum Libertad coin for a short period, however this was only available in a 1/4 ounce size, and is no longer produced.

Each coin comes in a plastic slip. The Mexican Libertad coin series is the most popular series currently available from the Mexican Mint, and is available in gold and silver. Mexico also produce the 50 Peso gold coin, which contains 37.5 grams of gold.

The Mexican Mint is the official Mint of Mexico and is responsible for issuing coins in precious metals in addition to official currency for the nation. The mint is one of the world's oldest continuously working mints, and is the oldest in both North and South America. It was first established in 1535. In fact, the mint was established at the location of Aztec emperor Moctezuma's Casas Nuevas, which was his house of meditation. Today, the mint's largest client is the Bank of Mexico.
