Brand new and uncirculated 1 Ounce Austrian Philharmonic gold bullion coins, 9999 fine.
2022 Edition
Design of the 2022 Gold Philharmonic
The design of the Philharmonic gold coin is similar to that of previous years. On the front of each coin is the famous pipe organ in Austria's world renowned Golden Music Hall. The words 'Republik Osterreich' are written at the top of each coin. Beneath the image of the grand organ are the coin's weight of 1 Ounce, its fineness of 999.9, and its year of minting which is 2022. At the bottom of each coin is its face value, which is €100. The Austrian Philharmonic series of coins is the only legal tender series to be issues with a Euro denominated face value. When it was first launched the Philharmonic was issued in Schilling denominations, however this was updated in 2002, when Austria joined the Euro.
The reverse side of each coin features a series of wind and string instruments used by the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic. The top of each coin features the words 'Wiener Philharmoniker'.
The Austrian Mint Philharmonic Series
The Philharmonic series was first introduced by the Austrian Mint in 1989. For 11 Years, it was issued in Schilling denominations until Austria adopted the Euro in 2002. In 2008 the Austrian Mint introduced the Philharmonic coin in Silver, and in 2016 the coin was also introduced in Platinum. The gold Philharmonic is the only version of the coin that is available in sizes other than 1 Ounce. The gold Philharmonic series is available in 1/25 Ounce, 1/10 Ounce, 1/4 Ounce, 1/2 Ounce and 1 Ounce sizes. The Austrian Mint also manufactures bullion ingots, including the highly popular Munze Osterreich Kinebars. The Austrian Mint is Europe's most prominent precious metals refinery in terms of legal tender bullion.
