Design of the 2022 Gold Maple Leaf coin
The 2022 Maple Leaf coin features a portrait image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front. On the top of her portrait, the words Elizabeth II are inscribed. At the bottom of the portrait, both the coin’s face value and its year of minting are located. These beautifully designed 1 Ounce gold coins have a legal tender value of $50 CAD. This means that each coin is guaranteed to be backed by the government of Canada to a value of $50 Canadian Dollars. However, the coin's intrinsic gold value is worth much more. The coin’s year of minting ‘ 2022’ is inscribed to the right of the face value.
